Biography

Marie-Pier Côté has been a professor at the School of Actuarial Science since 2018, and holds the Teaching Leadership Chair in Massive Data Analytics for Actuarial Science - Intact. She holds a PhD in statistics from McGill University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Her research work on statistical learning in actuarial science has earned her the award for best article published in 2021 in the North American Actuarial Journal and the Patrick Brockett & Arnold Shapiro Award from the American Risk and Insurance Association. Her research interests include algorithmic fairness in actuarial science and statistical modeling of dependency and actuarial risk.
